Dresden Green Diamond. A significant apple-green 41-carat pear-shaped diamond. It is the largest existing historical diamond of this color and is set in an elaborate pendant-type mounting with several smaller Diamonds. The early history is unknown although it is believed of Indian origin. The Dresden Creen first appeared at the Leipzig Fair of 1743 where it was purchased by Frederick Augustus II of Saxony for about $150,000.
